The Hairston Foundation Announces Launch of New Website

Bala Cynwyd, PA – AUGUST 1, 2019 – The Hairston Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its new website at www.thehairstonfoundation.org . The website is designed to help visitors understand the goals and mission of the organization and easily find information about the various programs designed by the Foundation to help address the needs of a growing population of individuals living at or below the poverty level in Philadelphia and other urban areas.

The website will not only provide useful information for those seeking to access our programs, like the Health Care Training Institute. It will also provide a connection point for agencies or other supporting institutions who may offer services to those in need. It is the goal of the Hairston Foundation to connect the growing population of at-risk seniors, as well as caregivers, with the services and supports to help them age in place with dignity. This is a goal that requires the coordination of a variety of services and experts to connect individuals with services that help meet basic human needs, including adequate nutrition, acts of daily living, a safe and adapted living environment, and quality human connections.

The initial phase of the website will be largely focused on providing program information but will grow over time to include information about active training programs, access for volunteers and a growing list of resources for individuals in need.

“The site will provide a comprehensive understanding of our goals, mission and initiatives, “says Roosevelt Hairston, founder of the Hairston Foundation. “There are people out there living in terrible conditions. We are in a position to see that help them those people get access to programs they may not even know they qualify for. This website is part of our long-term efforts to reach as many of those in need as possible.”

Programs showcased on the website include:

  1. Healthcare training and education
  2. Advocacy and support for seniors and people with disabilities
  3. Veteran advocacy and support
  4. Re-entry employment opportunities for the formerly incarcerated
