What We Do
Founded in 2017, The Hairston Foundation is a private, non-profit organization created to address the needs of a growing population of individuals living at or below the poverty level in Philadelphia and other urban areas.
These are frequently seniors or individuals with chronic disabilities living in terrible conditions and in need of additional support, access to programs, nutrition and resources.
- Healthcare training and education
- Advocacy and support for seniors and people with disabilities
- Veteran advocacy and support
- Re-entry employment opportunities for the formerly incarcerated
Through these initiatives and in conjunction with community and industry partners, the Hairston Foundation aims to drive meaningful change in our communities through improving the quality of life for individuals aging in place or living with chronic disabilities.
Ultimately our goal is simple:
Get the right services at the right time to people who need them.

Our Programs
Working with community partners to increase employment opportunities for the formerly incarcerated – focusing on the healthcare industry
Providing fundamental support to developing nations where poverty is high and access to opportunity and education are low.
In Pennsylvania, a criminal conviction does not stop you from voting. YOUR VOICE MATTERS! YOUR VOTE MATTERS!
